Boat Handling Course 2001
This was a course to learn how to drive RIBs and other powered craft safely. We booked a weekend course in Pembrokeshire like the very popular one we did in 1999. This was on the weekend of April 28/29th and included theory sessions on rule-of-the-road at sea, pilotage, charts, use of anchors etc as well as fun "drive it yourself" sessions on the various types of powerboats they have at the school. The 6 club members who came, gained Powerboat Handling certficates from the Royal Yachting Association training scheme and the option to get a cheap International Certificate of Competence by mail order. The power boat training course is also part of the Advanced Diver syllabus, so they will get that signed up in their blue books too.
