Kings School Worcester, Sub-Aqua Club

Stoney Cove training day, November 9th 2003
Just doing a 'buddy check' before we get in Tom, keeping warm Four of the 2002 trainees attended and got extra dives towards their Club Diver award. Tom, Josh, Ed and Stephen each got one or more skills signed off and we all enjoyed seeing perch and shoals of roach around the 'submarine' and under the pub. Tom was competing for the plonker of the day award by breaking a reel while deploying a delayed surface marker buoy - but maybe it was Josh's fault for filling it too full of air! Hot Chocky after the first dive was jolly good, but unfortunately a shower of rain came just at the wrong time for the barbie to be lit for the promised hot dogs. The low point of the day was 21m at the stern of the Stanegarth (the 150-ton tug sunk in the middle of the Cove) - was that a bottle of Irish Mist by the propellor or was I getting nitrogen narcosis? Ed, meditatingWell done to the divers who braved the chilly water (11°C - sorry lads, doesn't quite count as "Cold") and clocked up another 2 dives experience.

Stoney Cove training weekend, September 2002
After more than one false start, we eventually got all the new divers who had trained in the pool during the year together in one place at one time, with medicals duly completed, and had a splendid day of diving. Everyone had at least one dive, and some had three!
