First flight after lunch, during which there had been rather a calm spell, with most of the gliders from the club site up to the north leaving the sky empty. However, it started to pick up again and I did my usual trick of tripping over in the bilberries, not quite regaining my balance and taking off almost sitting down and being blown backwards. Was not very pro-looking, but it kind of got me into the air!
Scratched around for quite a long time (or so it felt) trying to get high enough for a top landing, trying at both ends of our bit of the hill. Further out was also quite lifty - not just close to the ridge. Eventually managed to get high enough to see over the top and did another top landing. Slowed the glider OK, but it can't have quite been into the wind enough, because it side-slipped as I landed making me fall over again!
