Robin Johnson led 12 of us on this trip to dive Guernsey and Sark from M.V. McGregor which is a steel-hulled liveaboard charter boat.
The McGregor is a converted beam trawler of some 65 ft owned by diver/skipper Stuart "look no (deck)hands" Farman. It is possible for 12 divers to live on board, though it helps if they are small and the weather is good! The McGregor is supposedly renowned for the quality and quantity of the grub. For me the highlight was the excellent cheeseplate and pate lunch we had on Tuesday. It would have been wonderful to have some seafood, especially as we could have provided some ourselves. A toaster that could be operational before the breakfast fry is fully consumed would also be of value, as would casual access to coffee and teamaking facilities as one would expect on a liveaboard abroad. Although the weather was mainly fair, the wind was easterly and quite strong, which limited the dive sites we could get onto once among the islands. Water clarity was not as good as I was hoping, though some of the underwater shots came out quite well.
